D is for… A dining room. Yes, that’s right, a formal little dining room; self contained…not open to the kitchen and living room. This is definitely a want, but not a total deal breaker. (A casual eat in kitchen, on the other hand, is a must have for every day dinners and the fabulous messy parties I will throw). But there is something appealing about a formal dining room designated for special guests and special occasions only. To me, a formal dining room says Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners with loved ones. Romantic date nights with the hubby. Come look at all my beautiful wedding china. Be careful not to spill in here, it’s the jewel of the house. That sort of elegance is hard to come by in a family home, and my heart desires just a little piece of it. |
